22 May Peru: Paracas Partay!
Greetings blog followers,
Peru Disaster Relief has now officially been in country for 10 days! Despite some minor cases of “Pisco Belly”, the experience has so far been unforgettable.
After spending our first week working our butts off here in Pisco, it was time for a little R&R. To make the weekend a little more exciting, the group had to “Find the Leaders” through a series of clues yesterday. After some quick packing, purchasing food in the market and being accosted by some “friendly” locals, we were off to the Paracas National Reserve, one of the most beautifully odd places any of us had ever seen.
Being dropped off on the top of a hill, we searched far and wide and finally found a perfectly secluded beach. Setting up camp for the night, we enjoyed a typical Peruvian meal of fire-roasted hot dogs, grilled cheese and marshmallows. Sleeping under the stars for the night, we had one big OG cuddlefest.
We returned today relaxed, refreshed and ready to work. Updates on the amazing work we’re doing here in Pisco will be coming in the next few days.
